Bromberg’s, Alabama’s leading jeweler since 1836, is thrilled to announce a complete renovation of its beloved Mountain Brook store. Located in the heart of Mountain Brook Village, this sweeping transformation is set to reimagine the luxury shopping experience while honoring the legacy and community roots that have made Bromberg’s a trusted name in fine jewelry for nearly two centuries.
A 66-Year Legacy, Reimagined
Bromberg’s has been a part of the Mountain Brook retail landscape for 66 years, and this renovation marks a bold investment in the future. The updated design will nearly double the retail space, offering an open, airy layout with a warm, inviting atmosphere that reflects the refined elegance of Bromberg’s jewelry, timepieces, and giftware.

“As a legacy brand, we owe it to our customers to stay fresh and continually enhance the shopping experience,” said Bromberg & Company President Frederick W. “ Ricky” Bromberg, who added, “Innovation has been important to our success; the changes you will see in the Mountain Brook store are dramatic with an elevated feel, reflecting the leading edge of luxury retail.”

What to Expect: A Floor-to-Ceiling Transformation
Every element of the Mountain Brook store renovation has been thoughtfully considered from bespoke display cases and custom lighting to expanded bridal and consultation areas. The project will maintain the original mid-century modern architectural shell while incorporating:
- Fresh stone finishes and bronze exterior accents
- A larger showroom with gem and precious metal inspired interiors
- A dedicated space called Bromberg Galleries, housing giftware, bridal registry, fine china, and home décor
- A new entrance and extended footprint into the adjacent building
- A luxurious customer lounge and expanded custom design center
- A unique Rolex environment with an Authorized Rolex Service Center
The renovation is being led by Hank Long and Alex Wilson of Birmingham architecture firm Henry Sprott Long and Associates, the same firm behind the original 1959 design. Interior designer Stephanie Maxey, known for her expertise in upscale jewelry stores, collaborated to create a space that feels both modern and timeless.

We’re Staying Open Through It All
Construction will begin in August 2025, with work carried out in phases to ensure the Mountain Brook location remains open throughout the renovation. Customers can expect uninterrupted service and access to Bromberg’s jewelry, watches, gifts, and repair services during the entire buildout. Select inventory and services may temporarily move to the adjacent space or to Bromberg’s Summit store during later phases of construction. Renovation completion is expected before the 2026 holiday season.
