Anna Leigh and Heath: Their Story
After more than a decade together, high school sweethearts Anna Leigh Justice and Heath Horn tied the knot on May 17, 2025, in a beautiful ceremony at Church of the Highlands Chapel, followed by a joyful celebration at The Florentine in downtown Birmingham. Their day was a true reflection of their faith, family, and enduring love with thoughtful touches and meaningful traditions woven throughout.

From High School to Happily Ever After
Anna Leigh and Heath’s story began at Jackwood Stadium, during a Powder Puff game in Anna Leigh’s senior year of high school. Heath had recently graduated and was cheering on his younger brother, but fate had other plans. Though they had known of each other, this was their first real conversation. That chance meeting led to a group outing to a haunted house and, later, their first official date at Chuy’s, followed by Motion Night at Church of the Highlands, which was a perfect start to their faith-filled relationship.
Over the next ten and a half years, their bond only grew stronger. “I knew Heath was the one shortly after I met him,” Anna Leigh shared. “He has such a servant’s heart — he’s compassionate, selfless, and brings so much joy into my life.”

A Seaside Proposal to Remember
During a family trip to Alys Beach, Anna Leigh thought she was simply headed to a nice dinner in Rosemary Beach until her dad made a spontaneous detour to admire the iconic Aly’s Beach white pillars. There, waiting in the sand with a dreamy setup of umbrellas and pillows, was Heath. As the sun began to set, he led her to the beach, shared heartfelt words, and asked her to marry him. Family members watched from the boardwalk and joined the celebration later that night in a beach house Heath had rented for the occasion. It was, as Anna Leigh described it, “a memory we will truly never forget.”

Her stunning ring — a round brilliant center stone flanked by alternating round and baguette diamonds on the band — was chosen with guidance from assistant manager Andrew. “He was a lot of help in picking out the perfect center stone,” said Anna Leigh. Her wedding band complements the engagement ring with matching diamonds.

An Elegant Dress with a Personal Twist
For her gown, Anna Leigh turned to The White Room in Mountain Brook, selecting a custom look by combining a corset from one Anne Barge dress and the skirt of another. She completed her bridal look with a Mikimoto pearl bracelet from Bromberg’s as well as a pearl and diamond hairpiece and earrings.

The bridesmaids wore blush pink satin dresses from Bella Bridesmaids, and the groomsmen donned classic black tuxedos rented from Mr. Burch. Heath also wore a traditional black tux and completed his look with silver and black cuff links from Bromberg’s.

A Day Full of Meaningful Moments
Faith was front and center on their wedding day. Anna Leigh and Heath shared communion during the ceremony and lit a unity candle, a moment made even more special by using her grandmother’s vintage glass tray as part of the communion setup.

At the reception, they enjoyed their first dance, heartfelt dances with their parents, and a lively bouquet and garter toss. A live painter, Joy Varnell, captured the magic on canvas, creating a cherished heirloom the couple will treasure forever.

One of Anna Leigh’s favorite memories of the day was their private first look, filled with excitement and emotion. “We were both so anxious and excited to see one another,” she recalled. “I will cherish those moments forever.”

The Details That Made It Theirs
Something old: Her grandmother’s glass tray
Something new: Her dress and accessories
Something borrowed: Her parents’ Waterford cake knife and server
Something blue: Her garter from The Lingerie Shoppe

Bridal party gifts included Julie Vos earrings from Bromberg’s, personalized hangers, and cozy pink pajamas and slippers for the bridesmaids. The groomsmen received Yeti coolers, and the couple exchanged meaningful gifts before the ceremony: cuff links from Bromberg’s for Heath and a personalized Bible for Anna Leigh, engraved with her new name.

The Registry
Their registry included timeless pieces like Herend Princess Victoria Gray china, Skyros Historia Paperwhite everyday dinnerware, and Waterford Lismore glassware, which was a nod to their love of tradition and entertaining. One of their most cherished gifts was a Waterford tea pitcher from Anna Leigh’s late grandmother, symbolizing years of sweet tea and special moments shared together.

A Dream Honeymoon
After the celebration, the couple jetted off to Maui for two unforgettable weeks. From snorkeling the Molokini Crater to watching the sunrise at Haleakalā, swimming in waterfalls, and driving the Road to Hana, their honeymoon was a picture-perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.

Happily Ever After
Today, Anna Leigh and Heath are back home in Trussville, where Anna Leigh works as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner at Children’s of Alabama, and Heath serves as a Fleet and Safety Manager at ESSE. Their love story, rooted in friendship, faith, and shared memories, is just getting started, and we’re honored to have played a part in their special day.
