Liz and Hunter were introduced by mutual friends and instantly hit it off. The pair spent their first afternoon together quickly learning they had much in common. Hunter brought Liz to his family’s house on Lake Tuscaloosa for a sun and water-filled first date. Much to Liz’s surprise, she met his parents on their very first date! The couple fell hard and fast for each other, and their relationship was filled with quirky costume parties, Alabama football, and selfless drives back and forth from Birmingham where Ross lived and Tuscaloosa where Liz was finishing school.
Hunter popped the question at Lake Tuscaloosa, where the couple had their very first date, on July 17, 2020. The couple’s families and friends traveled from near and far to the lake for an engagement party that weekend. Liz’s family surprised her by making the long trip from Pittsburgh to Tuscaloosa to celebrate the happy couple!
Hunter proposed with a gorgeous Forevermark Diamond engagement ring from Bromberg’s. The round brilliant diamond sparkled from a classic yellow gold solitaire band.
Liz found her perfect mermaid style Lazaro dress in Atlanta at Bridal’s By Lori. The classic silhouette was adorned with a sparkling lace overlay and a removable train. She wore her mother’s veil as her something borrowed. Liz incorporated a very meaningful and beautiful accessory into her big day. For her something old, she had a beautiful wedding clutch created using satin and lace from her mother and grandmother’s wedding gowns. Liz’s groom wore a classic black tuxedo with a matching bow tie. Together, the pair looked timeless and fabulous on their wedding day!
Liz reinvented her mother’s wedding dress to wear during the rehearsal dinner. Her wedding weekend attire was full of memories and nods to the important women in her life.
The bridesmaids were dressed in light pink gowns of their choosing, and the groomsmen were a dashing group in black tuxedos.
Liz and Hunter wrote letters to each other. They shared a very special moment by reading them together after their first look.
Hunter and Liz enjoyed celebrating their nuptials with family and friends from across the country. It was important to include family members who couldn’t be with them on their wedding day. In addition to gorgeous floral arrangements, the couple added black and white photographs of their parents, grandparents, and great grandparents to their table centerpieces. Their cake topper also adorned Liz’s grandparents’ cake on their wedding day in the 1950s. Even the couples’ pets were included in their big day as framed photos placed on the gift table.
Liz and Hunter created so many memories with their family and friends that day, but they especially enjoyed dancing all night to hits from the 80s and 90s performed by Fly by Radio, the couple’s favorite band from their college days!
The couple traveled to the Caribbean for their honeymoon. The spent the week at Villa Sheherazade in St. Barth’s enjoying the beaches and local cuisine.
Liz and Hunter are so grateful for the many wonderful gifts they received from their registry. They were especially grateful to have been gifted a wine fridge that came in handy when their refrigerator failed a few months into newlywed life! Liz fondly told us about her most cherished gift-a silver platter engraved with the details of their wedding registry.
They registered for Wedgwood Renaissance in Red, Lenox Allora flatware, and engraved elephant barware for their future Bama tailgates!
