A Special Place In Our Hearts – Children’s of Alabama

RadkoChildrens2015
No one ever wants to have to make a trip to Children‘s of Alabama but when an emergency or illness strikes a child here in Alabama, it is reassuring to know this wonderful facility is right in our backyard. Since 1911, Children‘s of Alabama has provided specialized medical care for ill and injured children. Ranked among the best pediatric medical centers in the nation by US News & World Report, Children‘s provided care for youngsters from every county in Alabama, 42 other states and 10 foreign countries last year, representing more than 653,000 outpatient visits and nearly 14,000 inpatient admissions.

We here at Bromberg’s have always believed in giving back to our community and in that effort we have been partnering with Children‘s of Alabama for almost a decade on an annual Christmas ornament benefitting the hospital. We also participate in the Illuminations Tree Program which includes a display of spectacular holiday trees throughout the lobbies of Children‘s of Alabama. After the trees have been on display for all the children, staff and visitors at the hospital to enjoy they are auctioned off as a part of the hospital’s largest fund raiser of the year, the Illuminations Ball. We always look forward to creating an amazing, whimsical tree design that features our Children‘s of Alabama ornament.

For the past several years we have been very lucky to be able to work with the Christopher Radko Company in the design and production of our Annual Children‘s Hospital ornament. Christopher Radko Fine European Glass Ornaments are produced in Europe by a seasoned team of artists and craftsmen. These ornaments are true heirloom pieces. Each piece is meticulously crafted by hand, using Renaissance-era carving, molding, glass blowing, silver lining, hand painting and finishing processes that require both unparalleled skill and several weeks to complete.

We invite you to join us at our Summit location on Thursday, November 5th from 5 until 8 pm for “A Night of Jewels for Little Gems,” a holiday open house, featuring  a SAMIRA trunk show of amazing colored gemstone jewelry and the release of our Annual Children‘s Hospital ornament. Call 205-969-1776 to reserve your ornament as quantities are limited.
