You know when you meet someone and it’s just different? You reach out to shake their hand and you get a little chill, knowing this person is somehow going to be significant in your life? Well, that is what happened when Jennifer Cooper met Bryan Myers. The sparks flew and for Jennifer, that was it”¦

The Back Story

Jennifer and Bryan were introduced on a bus headed to Memphis for an Auburn fraternity’s formal during her freshman year. She had been set up on a date with Bryan’s pledge brother for the party. After their introduction, Bryan and Jennifer made eye contact all weekend but they never talked. Jennifer wasn™t sure if the magic she felt was mutual or not but a month later, Jennifer saw Bryan again at a charity event and the sparks flew again. This time, the couple connected and started dating, their first date on April 20, 2005. The couple stayed together through school and a little more than four years later, Bryan popped the question. Less than a year later, the couple married. Here’s their wedding story:

The Proposal

The couple had discussed marriage but wanted to make sure they were financially ready before they tied the knot. On every special occasion or when anything seemed out of the ordinary, Jennifer would think that Bryan might propose. Bryan had been working on the proposal for a while. He got Jennifer’s sisters to go ring shopping so he™d know exactly what she liked. Once he had the ring, he talked to her family and the proposal was set. Bryan would pop the question while they were vacationing with her family on a beach trip to Seaside, Florida on June 12, 2009.

Jennifer says she’s not a morning person so when Bryan came to her room at five o™clock in the morning, she begged him for more sleep. But Bryan insisted they get up and watch the gorgeous sunrise that was just starting to appear on the horizon. Jennifer wiped the sleep from her eyes as they walked along and tried to wake up. When Bryan said he had a question that he™d wanted to ask her for a very long time, she really woke up— just as Bryan asked her to marry him. As the sun slowly came up, they had the whole beach to themselves for a couple of quiet hours to celebrate and talk. They returned to tell her family the news. A few days later, they returned to Birmingham to start their wedding plans.

The Wedding

Jennifer said within days, she had her core vendors selected. She was familiar with Arden through her work with the Alabama Ballet and Bromberg’s so she knew she wanted Arden to photograph the wedding. Then she found an exquisite Liancarlo gown with a beautifully designed cut-out train at Ivory and White salon in Crestline Village. Bridesmaids wore chocolate brown Belsoie gowns from Bridesmaids, Inc. in Homewood and the men all wore classic tuxedos from Mr. Burch Formal Wear in Mountain Brook. Sweet Magnolia did the cakes and Flower Buds did the flowers for the ceremony and reception. Jennifer loved wearing her mother’s beautiful pearl necklace as her something borrowed and one of her favorite details of the wedding was her custom made wedding shoes by Diane Hassall of the UK. The shoes were designed using vintage lace and fabric the designer collects and were branded with the wedding date on the leather sole.

Jennifer said one of her many favorite moments of the day was the moment she and Bryan saw each other before the ceremony. Arden set time aside for them to see one another before the ceremony started and was there to capture the moment. Bryan was waiting for Jennifer in the church’s sanctuary and they both were overcome with emotion when they saw one another for the first time. Jennifer said she still gets emotional when she thinks of the first moment she saw Bryan that day.

Jennifer also loved her diamond wedding band by Bromberg’s; custom-designed to fit her engagement ring. She also got a small, simple wedding band to wear at work and Bryan got his wedding band from Bromberg’s also.

After the reception and their wedding night at The Tutwiler Hotel, the couple left for their honeymoon in St. Lucia at the fantastic Sandals Resort. The couple is now at home in Houston, Texas enjoying their many Bromberg’s gifts.
